If it weren't for bad luck

Can't get the thing to run right at all.
Did the rings not seat?
It only wants to run in about a 5-6 degree timing range & it's gutless as hell.
Rebuild the carb.
Nada!
Different brand of plugs.
Nada!
Different wires?
Nada!
Put a couple hundred miles on it, just totally gutless.
Had a couple other people try to help me adjust the timing & carb
